General Manager of Ferrari Amedeo Felisa

Reports out of Italy are claiming there may be yet another changing of the guard over at Ferrari. Though yet to be confirmed by the Italian sports car manufacturer and motorsports team, Formula Passion (via Autoblog.it) reports that current Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa has resigned. No reason for the alleged move was mentioned. When contacted by Autocar, a Ferrari spokesperson only stated that the company does not comment on speculation or rumor.

Ferrari is at a critical juncture right now. Parent company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is spinning off the company, with an initial public offering potentially worth billions thought to be taking place within weeks. Longstanding chairman Luca di Montezemolo, who Felisa has close ties with, stepped down last fall after it was decided Ferrari would be made public. It’s thought current Ferrari chairman Sergio Marchionne wanted Felisa to stay on until after the IPO.

We’ll update the story as soon as more details are known.

Felisa, 69, has held the top role since 2008 but has been with Ferrari since 1990. Born in Milan, he has a background in engineering and originally started his automotive career with Alfa Romeo back in 1972. By 2004, he was serving as General Manager of Ferrari and in 2008 he became CEO.
